The GIST: It’s time to par-tee, or should we say faire la fête, because the world’s best golfers are swinging into the Amundi Evian Championship — the fourth major of the year — from the stunning French Alps. Here’s everything you need to know before the 31st edition begins tomorrow.

4️⃣ LPGA’s fourth major of the year promises chaos: Nestled in the mountains beside Lake Geneva in eastern France, the Evian Championship course poses unique challenges for the star-studded field, from the unpredictability of the greens to those sneaky Alpine winds. It’s a tricky one, but the views make even the most costly double bogeys look good.

👀 The 132-woman field is wide open: Just as it’s been all season. In fact, for the first time in the LPGA’s 75-year history, there’s been a different winner at each of the 17 tour events so far — and world No. 1 Nelly Korda, who won a mind-boggling seven events to start last season, has yet to finish atop the leaderboard. Talk about parity.

  • Forty-six of the top 50 women’s golfers will be in action — including No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul, the highest-ranked player yet to win a major, and 2015 champ No. 3 Lydia Ko, who has finished in the top ten at Evian in seven of her 11 starts — competing for a piece of the $8M purse. That’s a whole lot of green.
